Eva Campbell, BA, MS

Eva, born and raised in DC, grew up believing "Sports Was Life". She was the only granddaughter and had 5 boy first cousins, and it is with them that she spent most of her early years. Throughout her youth and early adulthood she cheered at all levels, and for all kinds of sports. Her passion for cheer started at age 8, and she physically participated in cheer up until her early 30's. Sports allowed Eva to utilize her athleticism and gifts to get the best seat in the house to watch all of her favorite sports. Hence, Eva realized this was her calling very young. Although she doesn't hit the mat as a cheerleader any more she continues to coach cheer, and run a number of youth athletic organizations.

Eva has managed to rack up a slew of experience coaching, and every team she has ever coached more often than not has won first place. Eva is very proud of this because it displays her dedication to the sport. She is now the assistant coach of both Southern Maryland United's (SMU) two Championship Teams.

Eva is also in her second Masters Degree program at Georgetown University. Eva's MS will fittingly be in Sports Industry Management, as it gives her the opportunity to make sports central in her life and to use her expertise in a way that helps the youth. Previously, Eva also attended a Master's Program at Bowie State University and for her undergraduate degree she attended The University of MD - College Park.

Eva continues to successfully own and operates other youth tournaments in other sports, and it is her goal to touch the hearts of as many youth as possible through sports. For media interested in interviews Eva can be reached via email MsEvaCampbellAthleticDirector@gmail.com

**Alton J. Lucas – Marketing Director, Youth Advocate, Coach & Mentor**

As a dedicated youth advocate with over 15 years of activism, I’ve made it my mission to create safe spaces where young people can grow, thrive, and feel understood. With experience as a behavior tech, teacher’s aide, and tech specialist, I’ve seen firsthand how mentorship and mental health support can change a child’s trajectory. My background in organized basketball—from ages five to 17—has given me a deep understanding of the game and the life lessons it teaches. At Check Ball 3v3, I’m committed to more than just developing basketball skills; I provide a space where kids can build confidence, find support, and simply enjoy the game in a stress-free environment.

I utilize basketball as a tool to build trust with young people, giving them an outlet to express themselves and relieve stress in a positive way. When a child knows someone genuinely cares about their growth—both on and off the court—it eases the pressures they face in everyday life. By investing in their athletic interests, I create a bridge to connect with them on a deeper level, helping them navigate real-life challenges with the same discipline, teamwork, and resilience they develop through the sport. My goal is to ensure every young athlete I work with not only improves their game but also feels supported, valued, and empowered.
